Description of the position
Under the supervision of the manager, the hardware clerk provides excellent customer service by greeting customers in the store and asking them questions to present them with the right items for their projects. They perform all related tasks, in compliance with the internal processes and rules of the Organization.
Tasks
Customer service
- Greet and assist customers.
- Determine customer needs by asking the right questions and providing basic advice.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by talking to customers.
- Offer products in all departments.
- Suggest alternative items as needed.
- Refer the best product for each project.
- Promote product features so that the customer can make an informed decision.
Management of the hardware and tools departments
- Place incoming orders on shelves and in the warehouse.
- Replenish tool displays.
- Participate in regular inventory counts with a co-worker.
- Know the products and keep up to date on their characteristics.
- Conduct research in the catalog or on the Internet.
- Keep work environment clean and safe.
- Answer the phone.
Skills requested
Academic aspect and experience
- High school diploma (an asset).
- Having experience in a similar position (an asset). Class 1
- Have 2 years experience in a similar position. Class 2
- Good knowledge of French spoken.
- Functional English.
