Description of the position

Under the supervision of the manager, the receiving clerk receives the merchandise from the store using the freight elevator and distributes it to the right department. They also take care of contacting suppliers when needed and changing the prices of the articles according to the request of the head office of BMR. They perform all related tasks, in compliance with the internal processes and rules of the Organization.

Tasks

  1. Ensure the reception of the merchandise by hand or with the freight elevator.
  2. Verify that the delivery note matches the merchandise received.
  3. Mention the error to the truck driver, if any, and write the information on the delivery slip.
  4. Place the merchandise in the warehouse or in the baskets provided for this purpose and give them to the employees of the right department.
  5. Apply a product code or label to the merchandise received.
  6. Prepare orders for merchandise reserved by customers, if applicable.
  7. Inform other departments of the receipt of merchandise by printing the order sheet and giving it to the materials counter.

Skills requested

Training and experience

  • High school diploma (an asset).
  • Having experience in merchandise reception (an asset).
  • Good knowledge of French spoken/written.
  • Be in good physical shape.
  • Be able to lift very heavy weights several times a day.
